Meet dr. Robert Penner

Dr. Penner earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry at the University of Calgary, followed by an MD at the University of Alberta, where he also completed his fellowships in internal medicine and gastroenterology.  He subsequently embarked on subspecialty training and research in inflammatory bowel disease for which he was awarded a Master of Science degree in experimental medicine on the topic of postoperative recurrence of Crohn's disease.

He is the author of several chapters in the online medical reference 'UpToDate' regarding inflammatory bowel disease and other gastrointestinal topics. He has been recognized by UpToDate with an author citation as one of their top authors.

He has practiced in general gastroenterology with a special interest in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis in Kelowna since 2005.
