Intestinal Ultrasound

Intestinal ultrasound (IUS) is a bedside ultrasound examination that allows visualization of the small and large intestines and is most useful for evaluating Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis.  This technique helps to determine disease activity, response to treatment, and helps to identify complications of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.  IUS is particularly valuable as it is non-invasive and non-painful, and requires no fasting, sedation or bowel preparation.  The examination is performed at the Innomar Clinic on Tutt Street in Kelowna.
